Emma Turns 7 Years Old

Our Emma is now 7 years old. She got a mini-celebration on her actual birthday, and a proper party a few days later. Little did we know that would be the last family party for a long while. (35-ish images total)

7 years old!
Earlier that day, she requested the hair-salon hair-do before taking off for school.
Big sister kindly agreed to make birthday muffins.

I made myself useful by going out and buying reusable icing bags during Emma’s practice.
Emma insisted on a crown. Up until now she’d always made crowns at daycare, but there’s no such thing in school. Happily I found some pink carton at the store, and some stickers!

Rounding out the day was this lovely weather forecast for the coming Friday, not yellow, but orange! We ended up not feeling much of it, but the west end of town got pounded like usual…

Saturday 15 February 2020

We were hosting a birthday party on the Sunday, so Saturday was tidy-up-and-clean day. This is a remnant of Emma’s rainbow obsession.
Anna ran outside to feed the birds, putting sliced apples on one of our trees. Who needs shoes?!

I unearthed an old stuff-to-fix list from one of the piles, and was happy to see some stuff had actually gotten done. Little miracles. 🙂
Convincing Emma to go to sleep at the end of the day was non-trivial, there was lego to build!

The day began with a football meet held at our local field. It such a big house, they can make eight kiddie fields out of the one big field.
Big sister came through again, this time by making a chocolate cake!
