According to Google Maps, the distance from our apartment to Hrefna’s workplace is 760 feet or 230 meters, and the distance to Bjarki’s daycare is 1330 feet or 400 meters. The distance from Bjarki’s daycare onwards to what will hopefully be Anna’s school is 400 feet or 120 meters. (For comparison: Bjarki’s daycare used to be 1800 feet (550 m) away in California.)

I’d say that’s squarely within walking distance except for perhaps when the weather really really stinks.

Except “when the weather really stinks”?!! You could practically fall out the front door and arrive at your destination! You should measure distance to the car and see if you’ll make it. 😛

Dude, you’re from New Mexico. Recognize that you have no clue! Aaaaalthough… Imagine there’s a cold sandstorm, really cold, with snow even, and a lot of wind, real wind, not the pussy wind you find in California. And you’d like to breathe, and the only way how is by breathing through some piece of clothing. That’s weather _really_ stinking. Oh, and pouring rain counts too because we always have rain _and_ wind. 🙂
