Winter? Spring? Sports!

Winter wasn’t quite ready to succumb to spring, but slowly and surely, it had no choice. The family kept being sporty, and one date-night happened. Then Finnur took off to Toronto, and I took the younger kids to the farm animal park, and discovered it was it was in the process of being renovated. (25-ish images total.)

That morning was Emma’s first “gymnastics meet”, except it was more of an open practice for the parents to see what their kids have been working on. (Animated gif)
The kids performed two at a time, as otherwise this would have taken all day.

In the olden days (when Bjarki was young) each kid got a mark on how they did, but this time around they got a certificate of participation, and us parents were told we could request an evaluation by email.
I took the girls for some ice-cream later that day to celebrate a job well done. At the same time, Finnur was at the airport, about to depart for Toronto on a work-trip. Bjarki was probably off with a friend, eating something sweet on his own!

Emma came with me to a cafe to wait while Bjarki finished his Sunday gymnastics practice.
After the practice was over, I took Emma and Bjarki to the farm animal park. The goats were outside, enjoying the nice weather.
The driver’s school was open, with their small electric cars. The kids dutifully got in line.
I went up into the observation tower while they waited, and then began driving. They are driving the green and blue cars on the left side of the line.
The view in the other direction, it was a really gorgeous day!

There were a lot of kids there!
We found that the park was under a lot of construction. This new fun and fancy play-structure had just been opened.
This was the situation next to it.
The pond was also under renovations, and almost drained.
Bjarki and Emma used to opportunity to walk over the pond. Up ahead is the tower I’d gone up in.
I surrendered!
The seals in good form, getting fed.
The good thing about arriving late, is getting to feed some of the animals.
