The insanity begins
Starting today, all the “junior college” schools in Iceland (for 16-20 year olds, after that you go straight to university and don’t do any more “common” courses, just the stuff you want to learn) are starting up – and my oldest brother is a freshman in one of them. Being the “big sister”, I get the dubious honor of going to the bookstores with him, to try and buy all the books he needs, preferrably used so they won’t be quite as ridiculously expensive. But since all the schools start at the same time, all the bookstores will be PACKED, and not much fun to be in… But I managed when I was in junior college, and I think I can mangage now – in spite of a head cold (there seems to be no end to the new-and-improved germs here!) but lacking last weekend’s sore throat… 🙂
Other than that, the summer-house stay in Hvalfjörður (Whale-fjord, where they used to land the whales) was really nice and cosy – and yes, we played Settlers… 🙂
