The Latter Half of Thursday
After re-aquiring the laptop yesterday, we went to visit Finnur’s grandma, Inga, and then my cousin Ríkey (she’s female!). There we got a good look at her boyfriend and their really nice apartment. Remarkably, she does not appear or claim to be pregnant! 🙂 Along for the visit were her younger sister, and her mother, along with her aunt. We ate yummy bakery-stuff until we thought we’d explode and exchanged “so how’s your half of the family doing?” stories. 🙂
After the dinner we made a short stop at my mum’s to return a propane gas tank from the garage we cleaned out, and then it was a lovely dinner at Baddi’s and Aðalheiður’s place (Baddi is Finnur’s only brother). It must be said that after the insessant visiting and dinner invitations (as great as they are) the pounds have been piling on and I think you can almost say I have a belly… although it’s hard to say if it’s just a fat-belly or a baby-belly! 🙂
The Last Whole Day
Finnur managed to call together a group of eight ex-collegues and had lunch with them. Meanwhile I was at my mum’s, sorting through old pink baby clothes to take to the USA. Then Finnur joined me and Helga (my step-sister) also came to visit. That of course resulted in “Christmas photo taking” for the yearly photo-xmas-card! Oh, dear…! 🙂
Afterwards we dashed to say goodbye to Holla and Óli. They were (still) painting the outside of their house in midtown Reykjavík (their co-house-habitants have been exeedingly lazy) and then to my grandma’s/Hulda’s place to say more goodbyes! There I picked up some more baby-clothes!!
Right now, we’ve just finished yet another great dinner (Jamaican ham), this time at my in-laws and then we’re taking off for the USA at 16:35 tomorrow. How time flies!!!
