[Photos taken 24-25 March 2025, posted online 23 27 December 2025. The weather is unseasonably wet and warm, hanging out at 9C/48F. Big rainy-wind-storms have battered us over the Christmas celebration, but zero snow.]
On our third and final full day in Tenerife, we ambled southwards, again utilizing the very handy mobility scooter as needed for those who needed it. The south-side felt less hilly than the northern one.
The following day we flew back to Iceland, which was probably good timing as the Bali-bed reservations were getting very competitive, and I only scored one on our last morning!

A toes-y photo from Tenerife. Such photos were infamously blamed for holding up inflation in Iceland!
That morning, I yet again managed to score three Bali-beds for a morning lay-about.
Gorgeous breakfast!
The rest of the buffet-area.
A lovely start to the day.
Heading southwards around tea-time (but looking north),
The two of us.
Found the number 34!
Not everything was shiny everywhere.
The most excellent walkway, extending southwards.
A plant you won’t find outside in Iceland.
Four fabulous ones!
Public art.
In the distance we could see a sand sculpture…
Said sand sculpture! It’s perhaps fitting that I’m writing this during Christmas? (Photo taken on the way back)
Onwards… The land flattens out towards the south.
A restaurant that was recommended to me, but nobody was really hungry.
Looking north.
Shop decoration.
Shopping way.
Found where the surfers hang out.
Nice view.
Thirst and low blood sugar finally caught up with us, and we sat down for some refreshments.
Enjoying the sea-breeze.
More surfers, and coarser beaches, clearly old lava flows.
Interesting archetecture!
About as far as we went southwards before turning back. Los Christianos will have to wait until a later date.
On the way back I stopped off at the cove close to the hotel, as I’d strategically worn my swimsuit, because I really wanted a dip in the ocean before we left.
A quick photo before hiding my phone in a pile of clothes and heading in. It was quite nice.
One of the many hotel flowers. They have a small army of gardeners keeping the place looking lovely.
Fun architecture. Icelander’s aren’t used to these open-to-the-elements houses.
Dinner that night was lovely fish.
We all burst our laughing at this dessert, and once we pointed out the anatomical interpretation to the waiter, he also couldn’t keep a straight face…!
A fancy box for a large bill.
Contemplative ones!
Tuesday 25 March 2025
On our last day, there was only one Bali-bed left unclaimed when I showed up at 08:40. But that was fine, as four of us would be leaving around noon, leaving only one couple.
I claimed a couple of benches facing the ocean for the others.
The last made-to-order-omelet for a long while.
The last lounge.
The boys looking at the ocean.
Close to 11 I made my way over to the gym to get some movement in before sitting in an airplane for close to six hours.
I think I managed to work up a bit of a sweat!
The last sea-side gym-selfie! I don’t think I’ve ever used a hotel-gym as much as this one.
Looking north. The clouds looked a little grim, but that was normal.
Saying goodbye to our hotel room shortly before noon.
Loading the car at the airport on the departure side, as the arrival’s side was still a construction mess. They’ve instituted a harsh camera-enforced 5-minutes free limit on the unloading area, charging an arm and a leg per minute if you go past it.
Dinner of champions! The kids all survived fine without us, and even greeted us with freshly made cookies!
