Pre-Easter People Gatherings Galore
[Photos taken on 28-31 March, posted on 14 October 2018. My cold is slowly getting better. Also, now I’m hooked on The Good Place, and excited for Doctor Who again. Been a long time since I’ve been emotionally invested in TV-land.]
The very end of March coincided with the beginning of the long Easter holiday, where Thursday-Monday are all public days off.
Smartly, people use those days for celebrations, and general outings, and this year was no exception. We went to a birthday party, a confirmation party, and drove to Laugarvatn to stay at Finnur’s parents’ summer house with friends. All in all a very good use of days! (38 images total)

This was my view an hour earlier, as I worked out at a gym, since I now have no excuses left not to.
After work, we headed to Finnur’s sister’s place to celebrate a birthday!

This gorgeous Thursday I took the girls to celebrate the confirmation of the son of some friends of ours.

At one point I started wondering where the kids had disappeared to. It turned out they’d found a grassy hill, that they were rolling down!!
My friend is a master organizer, so she managed to book the church festive hall, which is no small feat!

After going home and packing for a trip, we stopped and got our customary summer house departure dinner sandwich, and then drove eastwards.

We visited the Fontana hot tub collection, and this time I finally remembered to go up on the roof to take photos once we were done. The steams is coming from a house where they harness the warmth flowing up from the ground

Back down again. The architecture is all pretty brutal.
At the summer house, dinner got prepared.

Finnur’s dad had bought an inflatable hot tub, which got put to the test. It took a very long time to warm up, but the manly men decided it was warm enough to use around midnight.

The hot tub heating element wasn’t quite strong enough to counter the outside chill, so the kids had to make sure to cover the surface of the water.

Soon it was time to pack up, with Easter proper happening the day after.

We were hungry, so stopped by the restaurant at Laugarvatn for some food. I took the kids out while we waited for the food to arrive, as their hunger was making them very impatient.
