Photo of the smog still sitting on top of Reykjavik (that grayness by the bottom of the mountain) after the massive fireworks the evening before. Yes, I ventured to the only open coffee house I knew of to work on photos. I thought it was a good way to start the new year!

That afternoon we made our way to Halli and Adda’s, where the table was decked for a New Year’s Feast!

After work on Friday, we spent a fantastic evening with my sewing club ladies and their spouses. We ate good food, games were played, and general merriment ruled!

The festivities continued the next day, with a party with Finnur’s dad’s foster family. This was the last day to shoot up fireworks, so Finnur took the kids outside for a bit.

I can’t remember who sent me this snap, but I found it pretty darn funny. The book text says “The crown-petals of the orange daisies look like the flames of fire”, and the comment is “So easy to make this connection when you’re seven years old.”
