November Snapshots
[Photos from 05 – 25 November 2016, posted online on 25 January 2017. Very wet day in downtown Reykjavik.]
Finnur took off for a worktrip to California on 31 October, and returned home on 13 November. Meanwhile I tried to keep all the balls in the air by myself, which mostly means long days, and not a lot of battery-charging time.
A few days after Finnur arrived, all the screws and the plate from my ankle breakage were removed. Recovery kept me out of work for almost a week, but it was a lot less traumatic than the original injury.
Thus, only a few photos got taken over most of November, here are some of them. (28 images total)

After putting the younger kids to bed, I snuck out of the house to attend a 40 year old birthday party of a friend of mine. Yes, Anna is now big enough to keep an eye on sleeping kids in the evenings. Yay!

On our last Finnur-less day, I took the kids to the library, and then to the adjacent coffee house (where this blog post is currently being written). It is my favorite coffee shop!!

Adda came over for dinner, and we got unlucky with our pizza order as a topping was missing and the crust a tad too black. Adda, being the trooper that she is, immediately called the pizza place, and secured a free pizza in the future. (They’re usually not that bad.)

Finnur landed safely that morning an hour ahead of schedule. It was the first plane of the early morning hours, and he ended up waiting for his luggage for an hour! After a beauty sleep, we then attended a birthday party at Inga’s (Finnur’s sister).

Another adorable questionnaire at daycare. Emma answered “What do you do at your grandparents’ place?” with “Go swimming and watch”. She answered “How are grandmothers?” with “They have like gray in their hair”, and “How are grandfathers?” with “He also has gray hair”!

At the hospital, getting all the hardware extracted from my ankle area after the breakage in January. The clothes are all marked “Property of the Hospitals’ Laundromat” and have been since forever.

Familiar view. It all went pretty well, except that it took seven (7) tries to install an IV. My veins suck!!
Thursday 17 November 2016

An upgrade on a hospital classic. Recovery went well, it made a huge difference that I could step on the foot pretty much immediately.
Saturday 19 November 2016

We got a little bit of snow!! It only lasted a day or two, but I did manage to convince the sisters to go out sledding for a bit.
Sunday 20 November 2016

I was hit by a sudden case of cabin fever, and decided my mental health needed a change of scenery. My favorite cafe obliged with a perfect wool covered leg-stool even!
