December Without Finnur
[Photos from 02-13 December 2015, posted on 7 February 2016. Still on the couch.]
Finnur was in California, visiting his work mother-ship, from 27 November to 14 December. That span covers three weekends. Ayayay!
I’m collecting the photos I took during the first half of December here. I was hunkered down in survival mode, but still stuff happened. Crazy! (41 images total)

It was fitting that while Finnur was enjoying lovely California, Iceland froze over, as demonstrated by our drainpipe.

Chicken pasta in red sauce. It’s one of those dishes I can cook with my spine (no brain involvement needed).

Anna, the clumsy, managed to tumble down a stair or two as we were leaving the birthday party on Sunday. On Monday morning, I took her to the ER to have her foot checked.

Foot x-ray. No obvious breakage, and even if the most suspicious spot was a fracture, there was nothing to do but wait for it to heal on its own.

We didn’t come home from the ER until almost 2 pm, so there was no use in going to work for me. Somehow I ended up playing Ticket to Ride with Bjarki (blue), and he did remarkably well. I won though, because I’m evil like that.

Finnur’s parents helped me out with shuttling the kiddos to after-school activities, so we ended up at their place eating waffles in the late afternoon. Yum!

Me at work, soldering enough to make up for years of not soldering. This is taken during day two of “Innovation days”. There was a demo in the evening, which was great fun (although I’m still pissed at myself for not practicing), but I sure was tired afterwards.

Next up, a make-up guitar lesson, because the teacher had to cancel his lesson in the previous week.

We discovered the cafe has a toy box, which Emma promptly commandeered. We spent quite a bit of time in there.

And, just to finish off the day, I went to a 40 year old birthday party! The party was fun, but I had to leave fairly early. Oh well.
