Day #5 in DC: Home Alone, Cabin John Park Playground and Shopping
[Photos from 03 August 2015, posted online on 03 Octorber 2015. Almost makes me weep!]
Our hosts took off with their other friends and left us all by ourselves for a couple of days (at which point we drove and met up with them).
Since the day before had been kind of hectic, we took it easy by visiting a nearby park/playground, eating lunch at a restaurant, napping a bit, and then venturing out again for some shopping. (12 images total)

On the train in Cabin John’s Park.

Off we go! I learnt that sitting this close to the engine is both loud and smelly! This was pretty much the view the entire ride. It’s a 10-15 minute ride in the forest, and the most remarkable things you see are a house and the playground.

Walking back to the car and the weird talking/singing pig that talks about recycling, and possibly receives bottles and cans. I tried to stay away, it was a bit freaky!

We’d agreed to buy a chromebook for my brother, so to the store we went. The kids didn’t mind one bit!

Finnur and Bjarki played a card game (Svarta-Pétur) in the evening, and seemed to enjoy themselves!
