Emma and I at Laugarvatn
[We departed on Saturday afternoon 23 May, and returned around noon on Monday 25 May 2015. Photos posted on 30 May 2015. Just missed the 29th by minutes! ]
Since I didn’t feel like scowling at my big ToDo list at home while Finnur was away with the big kiddos in England, I decided to avoid doing a darn useful thing, and fled the house with Emma to Laugarvatn, where Finnur’s parents were staying.
Also, I always feel a little better when I have more eyes available to track what she’s up to!
Here are some photos from the trip. (43 images total)

Since it was just the two of us, packing was light. I did end up bringing a ton of extra clothing for Emma since I’d planned on letting her go diaper free for the most part. Turns out I hardly needed any of it, since I mostly remembered to ask her every hour if she needed to go. (Which she did.)

At the last minute I remembered I’d promised to bring a carrot cake to the Christening on the following Monday, so I quickly assembled a bag with all the dry goods, and then packed all the wet stuff. Meanwhile, as my back was turned, Emma destroyed a bag of tea. Yay!

After swinging we walked to the other summer house we have access to out there. It was empty and locked, so we just used the trampoline for a bit before heading back.

“The Water” is a place along the road where there river goes under it in a pipe and comes out on the other side to go down the hill. Emma’s fascinated by this.

Since we’d walked almost all the way to the other house, we gave the trampoline a quick second visit of the day.

Soon it was dinner time, and the rest of the gang checked in to let us know they’d had a good time, even though their team lost.
On the Monday, we woke up around 8am. A carrot cake got made, stuff got packed into the car, we drove back, did some more kitchen stuff, and then it was off to a Christening!
