Traveling to Australia
[Photos taken somewhere between Wednesday 11 to Friday 13 March 2015, depending on the timezone. Blogged on 05 April 2015.]
The work trip to Australia commenced on Wednesday afternoon in Iceland, and we touched down in Sydney, Australia, around 8 am Sydney-time (that’s around dinner time on Thursday in Iceland).
A few photos got taken along the way… (19 images total)
Iceland to London (3 hour flight)

One of the perks of traveling with other Marel travelers, is that they often posses cards that give access to various airport lounges. Yes, many Marelers travel a lot. Here’s the Icelandair one.
London to Singapore (13 hour flight)

As we were finishing dinner, sort of abruptly, the sign for our flight went from Boarding to Gate Closing. We discovered the gate was a loooong ways away, so we ended up doing quite a bit of jogging. We made it though!
Singapore to Sydney (8 hour flight)

Travellator? I think you must mean Terminator?! I’ve never seen or heard this word before, but apparently it’s a thing!

We had to travel between terminals in a bus, which was slightly concerning because we knew we only had 50 minutes between planes on the way back. As it turned out, we needn’t have worried because the planes happened to dock right next to each other on the way back.

We only had a couple of hours between flights, which we foolishly spent eating and replenishing fluids. We therefore ran out of time to visit the Butterfly Garden hidden behind this glass wall, and green chain curtain.

Passengers queuing to board. I made the mistake of buying a piece of chocolate inside this passenger pen, and it was so stale and disgusting I had to find a restroom where I could rinse my mouth before boarding. Never buy chocolate from little used vendors again!

When traveling south of the equator, the curvature of the flight path slopes downwards and not upwards like on the northern hemisphere. Weird!
