Last Day of Winter
[Written 25 April 2014]
Summer officially began 24 April 2014 (Who decides these things?! And why isn’t it the first of spring and not summer!?!?), but the last day of winter was a beauty, so here are a few pics to commemorate it. (10 images total)

I dropped Emma off with her grandparents, and got this photo of them heading out for a walk. (Anna’s fetching something inside the car.)

Meanwhile, I went swimming in Kópavogslaug (see the blue and white slides?). This was the first clear day in a long while, and quite a few people braved the cold wind, and sunbathed on chairs by the edge of the pool.

This ugly white truck has been sitting out in front of my in-law’s house all winter. It belongs to a mason who started working on their house sometime in October (or November, I’m not sure), and then basically abandoned the project for most of the winter – but left the van! In their driveway! All winter!!

He started showing up sporadically when the weather started warming up again. This day he’d showed up with two minions in tow.

On the way home, I noticed the outside temps had finally made it into the double digits! So I snapped a photo while stopped at a red light. (It had just switched to red!!)
