Ex-CA Women’s Sewing Club
[Written 01 February 2014]
I realized some time ago that I was long past due hosting a sewing club for the Ex-Californian Women, but holiday stress, illnesses, and scheduling difficulties pushed it to the end of January. (Turns out I last hosted a club in November 2012, ahem!).
For some reason, everybody but one guest was busy until 9 pm, so we had a good long cozy chat. This was great because we’d been trying to meet up since the beginning of December, but been thwarted three times by various illnesses the day before…!

Solla in the house! Everybody else arrived some thirty minutes later, at which point I’d long since forgotten about the camera. Oops!
The foodstuffs this time were a ‘coconut cake’ from a children’s Disney cook book that I’d made the night before (Ingredients: 4 egg whites, lots of powdered sugar, and coconut flakes; creme had dark chocolate, butter, more powdered sugar, and 4 yolks.), yet another apple crisp (with half the brown sugar), crepes, fruits, hot chocolate sauce, and whipped creme. Oh, and some cheeses and crackers.
We had a great time, and just to dredge up some memories, I set our TV to display random photos from our California years. 🙂
