Winter Break in England
[Written 13 November 2013]
A few weeks back I noticed that the kids would have a ‘winter break’. Sure it was only Monday and Tuesday off, but it sparked an idea… which grew, and ended up in us buying tickets to visit dad in England for 10 days.

The gang at Keflavik airport, walking towards the gate. The airport has a few strollers that people can borrow, which worked out great for us because we still hadn’t acquired our own stroller for Emma.

About to board the Wow airplane to Gatwick. It looked like a new-ish plane, and they kindly played a family friendly movie overhead, which kept the big kids busy for a long while. Emma fell asleep before we took off, and napped for some 40 minutes. She did really well overall, which was great! The biggest annoyance was having to turn off all electronics (including both tablets) once we started descending towards Gatwick, except we got stuck in a long queue, so the descent took forever!
Dad met us at the airport with a friend of his who owns a taxi big enough for 8 people, and about an hour later we were at our destination.
