Bjarki’s Graduation
Bjarki’s daycare/preschool held their graduation today, even though most of the kids will stay there until the summer vacation starts in July.
Come August, Bjarki will then start attending the same school as Anna goes to, as a first grader (she’ll be a fifth grader!). As things stand now, he’ll be in a class with some thirty kids (32 at last count) but there will be two teachers. And there’s only one class of first graders! Yes, our neighborhood is getting ‘older’.
Anyway, back to today’s graduation:

Emma also waited patiently. She was tired after hardly sleeping at all yesterday, and fell asleep before the graduation was over.

The kids sang four songs. The first one was the Icelandic Eurovision entry “Ég á líf” which has a strong chorus which the kids had down pat, except… they couldn’t figure out how to modify the last few notes of the chorus to actually end the song, so they kept repeating it a few too many times. It was pretty funny!
