Home Alone-ish
Finnur left early yesterday (Thursday) to go stomping around Manchester and Liverpool with 21 of his football buddies. They’re all going to go watch a game live tomorrow, before returning on Sunday morning.
Meanwhile, Finnur’s parents are helping me out with the kids. The big kids slept over at their place the night before last, and stayed with them all of Thursday because it was The First Day Of Summer, which is a public holiday (go figure). Emma and me enjoyed sleeping in until 9 am, and had a laaazy laaazy day.
Ironically, on Wednesday (The Last Day Of Winter) we had this happen:
Bjarki will be staying with his grandparent tonight as well, while Anna has a swim-meet tomorrow morning. Yes, she decided to start going to swimming practice again when she discovered that the twin boys next door are also going – it wasn’t us pushing her! She’ll be getting a ride with the twins, but I’m planning on showing up for her events. I hope.
Right now I’m sitting in the ‘office’ watching Emma on a playmat, happily trying to figure out how those darn hands work. She’s getting a little better at controlling the flailing, and yes, she’s extremely adorable. 🙂
(And just for kicks: In Academe-speak, watching an infant figure out how to control its hands would sound something like: “Currently observing a neural network arranging itself to control two jointed limbs in real time.” Charming, eh?) 🙂
