Slowly making progress

The sack has been ruptured and the IV administered. And the only thing to do for now…

… is play the waiting game as the contractions slowly get more intense.

Update 15:50: Contractions getting a bit worse for Hrefna. Midwife just said: ‘Now we seem to be getting started’. Atmosphere getting a little bit more tense also.

Update 16:09: Intensity slowly increasing. Hrefna still standing (feels better than sitting/lying down). I’m still not angrily being blamed for the whole thing so we have some ways to go yet… 🙂

Update 16:34: 4-5 in dilation. Epidural ordered.

Update 16:46: Correction: Epidural requested but is still pending bloodwork results. Laughing gas administered to float her through.

Update 16:48: Results in. Epidural ordered.

Hrefna: No. Now! (and then chuckles)

Update 17:20: Epidural administered. Salvation lies within (hopefully). Seems to be improving things a bit.

Update 17:35: Spoke to soon. Epidural not working. Doctor upping the dosage.

Update 17:39: Epidural not working as well as it should. 🙁 Doctor offered another epidural but they’re hesitating because she might be starting to push.

Update 17:41: Dilation 8-9.

Update 17:46: Epidural dosages increased. To late for another one. We’re looking at the end run now. Pushing.

Update 17:52: IT’S A GIRL! 😀
