This is Wednesday, Right?
All this ‘doing nothing’ is wrecking my sense of time.
If it weren’t for Anna needing specific things for school on certain weekdays (for example: Wednesdays are school-swim days), I would probably be utterly lost.
But yes, today’s been Wednesday. Apparently.
After the high blood-pressure reading on Monday, I met with the midwife again this morning, and the blood-pressure kept being high, with the lower number at 98 and 100 respectively. It’s also been naughty here at home. And I can feel the tension in my head, similar to what it was around Christmas. Grump.
Annoyingly, there was also a trace of protein in the urine (1+), but not enough to be alarming, and it’s possibly a false positive because it wasn’t exactly a superb specimen at 8:30 am. Apparently they need two 2+ readings from ‘good’ samples (mid-stream, preferably percolating for a few hours) for alarm bells to go off.
So, I’m to meet her again tomorrow morning, with a ‘proper’ urine sample. Meanwhile she was going to talk to an OB-doctor and get an opinion on whether I should increase the blood-pressure medication (I may apparently take double what I’m taking now). But it’s 16:30 now, and I’ve had no word, so I’m guessing no?
After a bit of physio (leg worse this morning than yesterday after sleeping on it, boo) I clambered home, hung out on the computer before napping on the couch. Finnur’ll be working late and catching an evening football game straight after work, so I’m in charge of the kiddos, and will be boiling fish and potatoes for dinner. Exciting stuff. And, yes he deserves the time off after basically keeping the home running every day for a while now… 🙂
