Physio
This ‘waking up after five hours of sleep to answer nature’s call and being unable to fall asleep again until ten minutes before the alarm goes off’-thing is getting old really fast. But it’s ringing all sorts of ‘hey, remember the sleep-deprivation?’ bells. Yay.
So yes, this morning was yet another one of ‘those’ mornings, except there was no room to lounge or sleep more because I had appointments galore starting from 9 am. (Getting Anna out the door is the 7 – 8 am task.)
I began by dropping the boys off. Then I wrangled a referral to physiotherapy from my GP (who didn’t get the memo on how we’re all pretending a 90-95 blood-pressure reading is a-ok), after which I met briefly with the midwife (no news is good news). After a short home pit-stop it was on to physio, where I was poked, wrangled, and massaged.
Interestingly, it felt like Ms. Bambino moved herself a little lower into my pelvis yesterday evening (35w3d, but who’s counting), which seemed to release a lot of tension on the outside of my dysfunctional left hip, and it starting feeling better. The middle part of the pelvis, however, is now more grouchy. Sigh.
Fast forward to today, and the main hip-flexor pain seems to be mostly gone, but the whole hip area is inflamed, unstable, and unhappy after a week and a half of badness, and I’m still limping. So the physio found a bunch of sore spots that she massaged, and gave me some exercises, and I’ll be seeing her again on Friday. And she was extremely happy that I’d gone and found myself a crutch. Score one for Finnur!
I (of course) managed to undo most of her good work by clumsily entering and/or exiting the car soon thereafter, but still decided to return a malfunctioning alarm clock and pick up a new one. Why? Because waking up and seeing the clock project 7:45 onto our ceiling instead of 3:45 due to a faulty number-projector is no fun. Then I almost went next door to buy bananas, but decided that would be pushing my hip-luck. So home I went to nap with my toes in the air.
The rest of the day went as per usual when I have the car. It does however bear mentioning that Anna finished Harry Potter 4 tonight (in English) after staying up way late for the past couple of evenings. She was absolutely dog-tired today as a result, which turned into crazy giggle-mania as it got closer to bedtime, but she was all done by 21:15 so I’m hoping she’ll be functional tomorrow…
