Finally, a Mostly Quiet Day
Oh, Tuesdays, you are lovely. 🙂
Life is crawling back to its regular non-yuletide-season self, and I must admit I’ve missed Tuesdays. I slept until noon*, lounged on the computer for most of the afternoon, and then took Bjarki to his swim-class at the end of the day and went swimming myself. Afterwards I napped until Finnur finished conjuring forth a dinner, and now I’m back on the sofa with my feet up in the air after putting the kids to bed.
I’m not one to usually post ‘inspirational messages’ here and there and everywhere, but one popped up on Facebook today that caught my attention. I’m posting it here as a personal reminder to stop living in the future, and try and pay better attention to the ‘now’. (Grrrr to all those to-do lists my head likes making!)
So, yes. Let’s see if that works.
* Sleeping until noon is particularly easy when you wake up at 05:39 am for the second morning in a row, needing to pee. Having attended nature’s call, you go back to bed, and lie there awake until you realize you’re hungry. The first night I caved in, and went and got a snack, but was not rewarded by sleep. Last night I tried to ignore the hunger, but was also not rewarded by sleep. So I was still awake when it was time to haul Anna out of bed for school at 7 am. Tonight I’m thinking of leaving some emergency rice-biscuits by the bed. Fingers crossed!
