Culturally Up-To-Date
We went and saw the Hobbit (part 1!) this evening with some friends, so we are now unusually culturally up-to-date. We decided to do the full fancy 3D with 48 frames per second, and it did look remarkably good. Almost too good. Borderline theatrical in places, but not really too jarring.
The movie itself was plenty entertaining, although it did sport the usual ‘straight-to-computer-game’ sequences which never fail to annoy me. But many parts looked utterly gorgeous, and I’d like to move to Rivendell (Imlradis) please. Or perhaps the Shire. I’m not too picky…
Also, the amount and quality of pure ‘design’ that’s gone into that movie franchise is nothing short of amazing. 🙂
Nothing much happened otherwise today. I did struggle a bit with getting the paperwork going for my maternity leave, but I do hope that’ll sort itself out. Oh, and this morning I had another 5 am mother nature’s call, except Bjarki woke up too, and neither of us managed to fall back asleep again, which was a bit of a disaster. Thankfully I managed to catch up on sleep later in the morning, when the house was quiet again.
