Angry Left Foot
Today was essentially a ‘no-op’ day, in that very little happened except time passage.
I guess there were a couple of highlights though: 1) Getting my left foot worked on by a physiotherapist, and 2) meeting someone unexpectedly at a restaurant while getting an early lunch after physio.
So yeah. My left foot is in intermittent shambles. I think I’ve identified JOINT-ENEMY #1 for me, and it is getting in and out of the darn car.
Yesterday, for example, I had the misfortune of trying to get into the car quickly (it was pouring with rain) with very little maneuvering space (thank you big-ass jeep that parked right next to me), and instead of doing a controlled feet-parallel-when-sitting-down sitting, I put one foot quickly in after the other and…
… when I arrived home and stepped out of the car, I found to my horror that I’d done something very bad to my left knee. Gaaaahhh!!
Turns out having a bad knee is worse than having a bad hip because the foot can hardly take any weight at all.
Thankfully, the knee got (somewhat) magically better as I stepped out of the car at the physio’s office this morning, so now we’re back to mostly fixing the hip, which got all angry after the knee got angry.
Bottom line: My left foot is still Angry. And useless. And it sucks.
My advice to the world: Have your kids early dear women-folk! When your bodies are young and spry!
Oh, and here, have a boring picture of my view from the sofa!
