On a Short Leash
Going from over a week of zero-energy to mostly-full-energy resulted in two very active days. Tuesday was the epic shop-for-four-hours day, and yesterday was absolutely jam-packed from the moment we left the house in the morning until almost midnight. Bizarrely, all of the things on the schedule were enjoyable, the day ran astoundingly smoothly (albeit tightly), but included little downtime except for a scheduled 45 minute nap.
This morning I went to see the midwife, and probably due to the ramping up of yuletide stress, my blood pressure numbers were 96/134 and 90/124 (or was it 127?), which are frankly pretty darn common numbers for me (lower usually 90 +/- 7, upper 135 +/- 15), but since the lower number refused to go below 90, she put me on a short leash, and wants me back in next Friday. Other stuff looks good though: baby is mostly head-down, its heart-rate is good, urine is protein free, and my belly is growing adequately. And just for the record, I’m at 30w5d according to the ultrasound (31w1d according to the calendar).
Anyway, put those two together, and today will be a relaxing easy day, with hardly a stepped step, and lots of thinking of how Christmas will in fact arrive even though the house isn’t spotless – or even close to spotless. 🙂
