Evening Festivities
It’s Sunday night now, the kids are in bed, and we’ll be hitting the sack shortly I suspect.
This has been a weekend of slow days and evening festivities. Last night one of my two sewing clubs had a full blown 16-person (8 couples) sit-down dinner and party at the home of one of us. And tonight Finnur’s parents invited us over for dinner for Finnur’s favorite food ever. 🙂
Since my health is still very blah, and sleeping at night isn’t going so well, I spent most of Saturday napping so that I would have some energy for the evening. I made it almost to midnight before I had to call it a night. Finnur stayed on since the party was literally further up the street from our house, and arrived home a few hours later. Happily, the kids stayed at their grandparents’ for the night.
Today I ventured to the mall shortly after 11 am to do some browsing, and lasted for one hour and 30 minutes before I felt like I needed to lie down on the ground and nap. Thankfully, I made it home without falling asleep at the wheel, and managed to nap a bit. Having re-acquired some energy, we then did a little bit of tidying up, I installed a few more happy lights in the windows, and Finnur got out the drill to fasten two racks/hangers and a light to various walls. (Anna will now be able to actually see the notes she supposed to be playing on the piano…)
Tomorrow starts the last week before Christmas proper, and there are gifts to be bought and wrapped, a house to be straightened out, and health to be improved (hopefully!). Just regaining my sense of smell would be a good start! 🙂
