Enter Saturday
My no-fun cold (flu?) keeps chugging along. Yesterday was better than the day before, in that resting for a bit resulted in enough energy to do little things like laundry, and finally putting Christmas lights up in Anna’s window. Oh, and tackling both kids (and making dinner and cleaning up) last night.
After dinner last night, Anna surprised me by making a pretty awesome window decoration taught to her by one of the teachers at school. She proudly hung it in her window:
My night went so-so, and I woke up feeling not a whole lot better than yesterday. I’ve still got intermittently clogged ears, my head is full of snot, my throat is sore, and the coughing feels annoyingly unproductive in clearing phlegm.
When I finally clambered out of bed, I found that Anna had kindly started making a window decoration for Bjarki, which was installed shortly thereafter:
Sadly, he was getting pretty hungry by the time it went up, so he was a pretty ungrateful decoration recipient. I’m hoping he’ll say ‘thanks’ one day.
We survived the rest of the early-Saturday-morning routine and a friend came to pick Anna up for the last session of English school this term, while I ferried Bjarki over to his gym practice (of course these things are scheduled at the same time!!). Then I headed home, wrote this post, and now I’m about to ferry him over to the sporty-school to expend some more energy.
But before I forget: We haven’t had any real snow for a long time now, probably a few weeks. The temperature has been hovering around freezing, so there’s been rain and then frost, resulting in frozen ground, but no snow cover. Which is a bummer. And according to the weather forecast, we’re actually headed into a warm spell – so there might not be any snow this Christmas?!?!
