Today’s Home Improvement – The Hallway

I spent yesterday visiting various shops, getting small bits and pieces that had slipped under my radar, but popped up again when I wrote down the epic list of stuff to do for the house.  I’m talking about things like felt floor-protectors to put under chairs, more plastic bins, hangers, small light fixtures, etc…

The biggest item was a new shoe-rack, because our old shoe-rack ($5 at Ikea 10 year ago) had finally lost all will to live, and our shoes were living in a heap in the corner of the hallway (foyer?).  Seeing how this new rack is from the same Ikea product line as the coat-hanger left behind by the previous owner, this purchase was a bit of a no-brainer.  And feeling energetic today, I assembled said shoe-rack:

Happily, this shoe-rack is much bigger than our old one, so the hallway has been mostly cleared of random shoes that had no home. 🙂
