The To Do List – House Version
I noticed last week that I’m stressed. When I really shouldn’t be. Because I have nothing to stress about, right? My main obligations are to make sure the household runs relatively smoothly, and it does so almost on auto-pilot at this point in time. Oh, and I need to learn how to not stress when I take my blood pressure. 🙂
Anyway, after contemplating the source of my stress, I came to the conclusion that I was stressed about all that ‘needed to be done’ around the house, and feeling utterly overwhelmed. I communicated this to Finnur, who in his usual zen-like manner, told me I should write it all down to get it out of my head. Oh, he knows me too well!
So today I sat down, and started typing up bullet-pointed lists for all the rooms in the house. I’m done with the first pass of the entire house, and it’s FOUR FRIGGING PAGES LONG!!! For a house that is not undergoing any major renovations, and is in fact perfectly livable-in. Which boggles my mind. But at least it’s been downloaded from my brain, and maybe it can concentrate on other things now, like actually getting started on that to-do-list instead of just trying to remember it all.
