The Most Boring Parents Ever
Finnur and I had a very relaxing Sunday, which translates into us being the very laziest and worst parents ever. Anna was clever enough to disappear out the door at 11 am to a neighborhood friend of hers, and we only saw short glimpses of her until we summoned her home at 5 pm.
Bjarki on the other hand was stuck in the unusual situation of all his street-friends being away for most of the day, so he hung out with us, trying to coax us into liveliness, but nothing much worked (imagine a buzzing bee around two non-moving flowers, and that pretty much describes it).
Yes, we did read a book, and we did feed him so all was not lost. After some frustration he ended up digging up an activity book and worked on that (to his own hilarious narration), which he never does at home, so maybe that’s the key to low-energy days?
At 5 pm we did manage to haul everybody out to the car and drive to Adda and Halli’s, where I sank my teeth into building their chest of drawers (yay for drills that have the right drill bits!) in exchange for dinner.
And that was Sunday.
P.s. No staining happened because the wood needed to dry, and when it looked ok, the weather forecast indicated rain on the way. We’ll try again later this week.
