School Starts and Cast Reinforcements
[Written on 11 Sept 2012]
Anna’s school went in sesson on 22 August this year. Students from grades 2 through 4 were summoned to school, students were paired with teachers, and then each class went to their homeroom.

Anna’s class was the next-to-last class to be called up. Each year has 2 classes, some of which are rather on the large side.

Anna’s teacher is the same one she had last fall. In January her old class of 15 students got divided into two parts due to budget issues, and each part was merged with another class. This meant Anna got a new teacher. It went ok, but we’re very happy to have Anna’s old teacher back. 🙂 Also, there are 28 students in both 4th grade classes this year.

Shorty after we were done at school, it was time for Anna to visit the ER again, and get an x-ray of her arm. The doctor seemed to like what he saw, but the cast needed a bit of reinforcing. A nurse therefore plastered a fiber-glass-ish material on top of it, which hardened very quickly.

I was feeling peckish after the hospital visit, so I took Anna to the Pearl where we had ice-cream and basked in the sun with all the tourists. That smoke down by the ground is the artificial geyser that goes off now and again when the tourists are there. 🙂
