Back Home
When we arrive home we found a new patio in our backyard!

New patio, with hot tub! 🙂 Sadly, the hot tub wasn’t operational because the plumber still needed to do quite a bit of work in the garage.

Finnur started staining it on Monday, because the weather forecast was nothing but sun for the next few days. (Sorry UK!)

Finnur still staining. At some point he gave up and erected the sunbrella we’d bought during our last Ikea trip, and hid under it to guard against the relentless sun. He finished shortly before midnight, and then repeated the whole process the next day.

Today, Bjarki and Finnur installed pli-sol curtains in the living room. Meanwhile, the plumber showed up, and aaaalmost finished getting the hot tub ready.

These are curtains that one can raise and lower, except there are no hanging strings, just guide-strings stuck down to the bottom of the window on each side.

We had some visitors today, but totally forgot to photograph them. After dinner the kids came in with blue mouths, and we asked what the heck they’d eaten. The said ‘krækiber’ (small black berries) and I called bullshit because they’re not ripe for another month. Well, then the kids led me outside and sure enough, the kids were right! Later on, Anna hiked up the hill over our house, and found even more – and even a blueberry or two. She told us there were a few fat and juicy ones, but not many made it back to the house. These berries are still on the skinny side – they should be nice in a week or two!
P.s. On Monday morning Anna started on a horse-riding course (three hours every morning all week) which I’ll blog about later.
