Thank Goodness for Wikipedia!
Last year I was contacted by the host, Hanna G. Sigurðardóttir, of “Then and now”, a radio show on National Channel One (Rás 1) , aka ‘The Old Vapor’ (gamla gufan). She asked me to come in and be interviewed about microwave ovens and microwaves in general (are they dangerous?!) for a segment in an episode on cooking methods, which aired on 6 September 2011 (my portion starts around minute 25 – I still haven’t listened to all of what I rambled on about – sorry Icelandic only).
Anyway, this is just a long preamble to saying that I met up with Hanna again today, this time to ramble on about the history of the electric telegraph and the wireless telegraph. Of course I didn’t really know any of the stuff I was to talk about until this morning, when Wikipedia came to my rescue. So thank goodness for Wikipedia! 🙂
