Plumbers and Garage-Organizing
Today we were visited by a couple of plumbers who rigged up pipes in the backyard for our soon-to-be-installed hot-tub (yes, with a lockable lid).
When the house was built, a water pipe was installed under the kitchen floor, beginning from the garage and exiting just under the patio deck, just in case somebody wanted to install a hot-tub. The only problem was that the garage-end was hidden somewhere along one wall, under a thin layer of cement. To locate it, the plumbers brought with them a semi-stiff pipe with a metallic end, and sounded it out at the end of the day. Stupidly, the pipe doesn’t surface next to where all the other piping is, so the plumber will have to do some work to get it from one end of the garage to the other.
Anyway.
Knowing that they’d be working in the garage today, I decided this would be the day for the epic-garage-organizing that I’d been promising myself for months. So when they arrived this morning, I took all the big items out of the garage, and then went and cleaned, sorted and rearrange stuff for the next five hours. I couldn’t finish the job though because they still hadn’t located the pipe when I was out of gas, but it’s looking a lot better.
Tomorrow Bjarki turns five years old(!!!!!). I’ve (stupidly?) invited all his class-brothers to come over between 5-7 pm tomorrow, to tear the place down. It’s one of those ‘better just get it over and done with’ things. There will be pizza, and a chocolate cake, and maybe muffins if I’m in the mood. 🙂
