Palo Alto Junior Museum etc.
After Tuesday’s all-day trip, I decided to spend Wednesday doing ‘quieter’ things… a lot of them. 🙂

Anna and Bjarki playing with the epic tennis-ball-moving-machine at the Palo Alto Junior Museum and Zoo. There is a whole second portion to it on the left side (not pictured) - tennis balls move between the two via a tube up in the ceiling.

This thing is 'kid-powered'. Yes, it says so on the side. The whole 'museum' has now been transformed into an 'energy-awareness' center, with a dash of (mostly dead) bugs. I wasn't too happy about the changes - Anna used to be able to spend hours playing with the various contraptions, but now the only proper contraption is that machine, which is great, but it feels a little lonely.

The 'bugs'-section. Not very exciting - but if you went into the cupboard on the left, and closed the door, you could hear 'bug-sounds'.
We checked out the mini-zoo out back from the ‘museum’, but it was pretty blah, probably because we’d just been to the big zoo up north. We then spent a good chunk of time on the playground behind the PA Junior Museum and Zoo, which was pretty cool.

At 5 pm we picked Finnur up from work and went to the 'Welcome new parents' potluck at Anna's old school. We'd heard through G+ that a few of the families from Anna's old kindergarten would be there so we decided to go as well. We found them pretty fast and hunkered down by their blankets and got caught up.

Not the most flattering picture ever, but pictures of me are so few and far between that I feel compelled to post them when they pop up.

Our friend Tina, who was our neighbor when we lived on the Stanford campus, happened to be in the area, and joined us for a late dinner. I'd like to use this opportunity to alert readers to the fact that Icelandair is now flying direct between Iceland and Denver, Colorado. 🙂
