Old Haunts
On our first Monday in California, Finnur took an early bus up to the city (San Francisco proper – where most of his team is now located) while I drove to Menlo Park to meet a friend for breakfast, with a quick non-stop visit to Stanford because I was early.

Driving on the aptly named Palm Drive towards the main Stanford quad.

I couldn't spot anything different from when I was last at Stanford, but I'm told they've been very busy building an new engineering quad behind my old building... I didn't stop to check it out though.

My breakfast: huge fruit-filled crepe with mystery 'yogurt' on top, with bagel and potato shavings. It was pretty yummy! 🙂

When I returned to home base, the kids were busy playing Geometry Wars on the Xbox. They're such telly-addicts! 🙂

They didn't really want to leave the Xbox, but I somehow got them into the car and drove to 'our' old 'red playground' where we hung out for a good while.

Kids playing in the sand. We arrived there close to two which is when the nearby school lets out, so there were quite a few kids on the playground. As the afternoon wore on, most of the kids disappeared, so we also took off, and got a little shopping done.
All in all it was a relatively quiet day. We took an extra stroll down memory lane by driving past our old house, and seeing just how huge a couple of the plants we planted out in front have gotten. As we turned the car around in the cul-de-sac Anna pointed at all the houses where she’d know a kid in.
