Deirdre and Matt
Next up on the friends-travaganza were Deirdre and Matt, whose son, Owen, was born last December and we therefore hadn’t seen in real life. We arrived around lunch-time, and hung out for the entire afternoon, California-style! 🙂

Their house is a small palace (compared to regular houses in the area anyway). Here the kids are busy looking at things before we headed out.

The kids soon found the best bug ever: A roly-poly! 🙂 It literally rolls itself up in a tight ball when it wants to defend itself.

Matt is a better child-entertainer than we are. He actually went out into the yard to play ball with the kids. 🙂
We went on a quick stroll to a nearby playground since the kids were apparently ready for some action. What a gorgeous setting!

When we got back, Matt's strawberry-rhubarb pies were ready! Mmmmm! 🙂
Deirdre's brother and his girlfriend showed up later in the afternoon. He's following in his big sister's footsteps at Stanford. 🙂
