Time on fast-forward
These past few weeks have been a wee bit crazy. I find myself working in the evenings more often than not, and I’m not all that thrilled about it. I’ve been trying to figure out why my time-management isn’t any better, and I think it’s coming down to the new course. You see, I’ve hardly touched the textbook for the old course this semester, instead relying on my slides from last year, fixing them a little every now and then, but mostly leaving them as is.
The new course is, of course, new, and at well over 400 pages, there was no chance I’d ever manage to read the textbook before school started. So I’ve been reading the chapters the day before each lecture, and that takes a bit of time. Thankfully I decided to use the slides that come with the book or I would have just skipped sleeping this semester.
So yeah. I’ve been busy. Annoyingly so for the pittance of money I get paid to do what I do.
But life goes on nonetheless. Finnur went on a soccer/football-trip to England this past weekend, and returned happy after seeing his heroes in the flesh. He returned with an Everton uniform for Bjarki which Bjarki is so fond of he’d prefer to wear it always. Anna is doing pretty well, at least as far as we know. She had a friend from her class sleep over this past weekend, which was something that they themselves organized (with some help from the moms). She continues to practice swimming three times a week, and that seems to be going well also. On Saturday there is apparently a swim-meet and that should be interesting.
I keep biking in to work, now on studded tires. The studs do make me go a bit slower, by 5-10 minutes depending on wind and tiredness. This past week I also ordered studded tires for Anna’s bike – it’ll be interesting to see if they a) fit, and b) will get used. 🙂
