Cold
We’ve finally entered a cold snap and, it’s freezing! Literally! Unfortunately I’m also carrying around the other kind of cold, the nasal-drippy, raspy-voice kind of cold. I’m hoping yesterday evening was the worst of it though, and that it will be getting better from now on. It does feel like both nostrils are equally clogged now, so that’s a good sign – usually the gunk goes from occupying one nostril, to the both, to the other, and then it’s all done.
Finnur is still far far away, but life continues. Today was an epically busy day, but hopefully things will be calming down from now on. I hopped from listening to three students of mine giving talks on various topics this morning, to frantically reviewing grant-applications, to showing up to a meeting that thankfully got cancelled so that I could finish reviewing grant-applications, to preparing a shopping guide for Finnur the Brave, to stopping by Finnur’s sister’s place to say Happy Birthday, to picking Bjarki up at daycare, to going to yet another store in my apparently ridiculous quest to buy him a winter-over-all that isn’t far too expensive but still functions and fits well, to picking Anna up from swim-practice, to revisiting Finnur’s sister’s place with the kids, to picking up to take-out for dinner and taking it to mom’s place, to driving back home, to swinging by Bjarki’s daycare to help prepare the Christmas ball on Saturday, to going back home and having a nice relaxing cup of tea, while Anna twirled nervously around unable to control her excitement over that one piece of chocolate that will emerge from a Christmas-time-calendar tomorrow morning.
I think I’ll be working from home tomorrow. I need to put together a final. That’s one of my least favorite things to do. I should stock up on chocolate…
