UK Vacation – Part One
July was a busy month. Not only did we BUY A HOUSE (!!!) but we also went on a 10 day vacation to England. The vacation was planned long before we knew we would be buying a house, so we had to plan around it a bit. As it happened we didn’t have to plan too much, we got the house a week before our departure date, which gave us just enough time to do all this.
But yes, one week after getting the keys to the house, we were at the airport waiting for Iceland Expressto spirit us to England, while my brother, his now fiancee and my nephew took up guardianship of the house. Sadly they were without a telephone, internet and tv pretty much the entire time, so they ended up playing quite a lot of video games, and making cute videos of little Fannar. Awwww… 🙂
Anyway, on to our trip to England. We landed late on a Monday evening, and I ended up carrying Bjarki all through the Gatwick terminal because he fell asleep just as we were landing, and it was impossible to wake him up again! (No, we no longer travel with a stroller.) He didn’t come to until we buckled him into my dad’s car some 45 minutes later and stayed awake until we arrived at dad’s place some 50 minutes later…
On Tuesday (19th), the kids entertained Shirley’s grandkids that she and dad were babysitting while their parents were on a short holiday.
Wednesday (20th) was another mostly relaxing day. My dad took me and Anna out shopping, and we stocked up on some shoes and clothes for her as she keeps growing and growing… Thursday (21st) was a big activity day – we went to Legoland Windsor! It thankfully wasn’t crowded because the school holidays were still a few days away.
As is my habit I took lots of pictures, way too many to put here, so I direct you to a web-album, accessible by clicking the image below:
