Out and About
I spent a quiet morning mostly lounging in bed, but after lunch I was all action! I stopped by work/school to let them know I was still alive, and sporting a lovely whiskey-voice. Then I went to do some grocery-shopping and experienced the only “uh, oh, maybe this is a little too much too quickly?”-feeling of the day as I was frantically trying to put everything in bags to clear out for the next shopper. It was probably a little too much. Point taken. Also, it’s funny how the register people have just stopped helping out with bagging. They just don’t do it.
Then I had to stop by a pharmacy to get more penicillin (which I suspect hasn’t been doing squat), but I didn’t get enough pills to begin with due to some error and since I started, I need to finish 10 days or so of it. Blergh.
After all this hullabaloo I finally made it to daycare around 16:30 where I picked up Bjarki for the first time in over a week. He seemed pretty happy to see me, and we went home and had a quiet late-afternoon. I made salmon and cous-cous for dinner and he got to chop the cucumber, and some peppers for salad all alone using a sharp knife.
After dinner he insisted on a bath, and just as I was putting him in his pajamas, Sarah pinged asking if we’d like to video-chat with her and Anna. We did, and it was pretty cute. Then it was bedtime for Mr. Bjarki, but he wasn’t too happy about it. He wanted to be with his grandparents, probably because he gets much better sleepy-time-service there than here. Instead he got to call his grandma and say goodnight, and then move his pillow and duvet to our bed where he happily fell asleep. This may take some time to undo. Oh well, it could be worse.
