Here And There Day
Today we had a parent-meeting at Bjarki’s daycare. Basically it’s the same old story, he’s advanced for his age in some areas (concentration, thing’s he’s interested in) and slightly behind in others (gross motor skills). She praised his kind and happy nature, although remarked that he is a big teaser, and reads the other kids like open books to find their weaknesses. Overall it’s striking how his ‘reviews/evaluations’ all seem to say the same thing throughout the years. Kinda has to mean there’s no ‘changing’ him, just protecting him from harm, no?!
Around four this afternoon I took Anna to her last gymnastics lesson, and I’m going to wait and see if she wants to continue. She wasn’t happy with the instructors that emphasized stretches and ‘practical’ things, she much preferred the earlier instructor who was all about them jumping and having fun. I wonder why…? 😉
I yanked her out of practice early though because her classroom coordinator had organized a trip to the movies (discounted!). So we drove to see Gnomeo and Juliet which was a little mindnumbingly saccharin sweet, and the boys behind us complained loudly that it wasn’t very good – too much lovey-dovey looking into each others eyes I suspect, and not a lot of Action. But at least we made it to the movies, and Anna enjoyed the movie overall and hardly covered her ears at all, which is a good sign. Good job on the volume control dear theater! 🙂
