Grading Day
We repeated much of yesterday’s routine this morning, except Bjarki didn’t wake up until 7 am, so I skipped the sofa-nap. Instead I got him to daycare around 8:30 am, and then went home and collapsed into bed for 2-3 hours. This made the remainder of the day manageable.
After lunchtime, I finally sat down by the stack of finals and dug in. I managed to finish the first of two problems before fetching Bjarki, and then polished off the second problem tonight. I have therefore finished grading both my finals, and now begins the massaging of numbers with my other co-teachers. I’m very curious to see how they want to tackle this. Sadly, I’m not quite finished yet with this course, because there will be a ‘sick-make-up-exam’ on Friday where three students have signed up. It’s also looking like there might be a few students flunking the class, so there might be a ‘make-up-final’ after mid-June. I’m not thrilled at the thought.
Bjarki seemed to be in pretty good spirits today. I drove to daycare to pick him up so that we could go to the store to buy some fish for dinner. Once we got home, he got to play outside for a bit before heading indoors. Once indoors he began the chant of “mom… mom… mom… take a look at this… mom… mom… mom… ” etc etc. Somehow, Finnur always manages to dodge this chanting, mostly by never responding. I’m so bad at that. After dinner Bjarki got a bath because he smelled like a sandbox, and then he went to bed quite calmly. Perhaps with a book to look at. Don’t tell Finnur!
Here are a few pictures from the ‘outside’-time we had today.
