Farm Day
We arrived in/by Akureyri (they live 10 minutes south of Akureyri) with no plans at all. After ‘putting our heads into water’ (Icelandic saying for ‘thinking about it’) we came up with the brilliant plan of visiting a couple of farms 4 minutes away northwards that belong to relatives of Kata. The reason: it’s the season for ‘baby’ animals!

The view from farm #1, looking south-ish. It's easy to imagine a lazy glacier carving those valleys.

Saying hi. Almost everybody had gone to a 'confirmation'-party, but a couple of people had stayed behind.

Looking east-ish as a long line of horses gallops by on the other side of the fjord. That pipe is a hot water main.

The main reason for our visit though were these very new lambs, some less than 24 hours old. Awwww...

Here's my attempt at capturing the jaw-dropping view from the kitchen window. Also, I might have to visit again just to taste The Best Milk Ever! I think I must have had 5 glasses of milk, it was just so amazingly delicious! 🙂

Back at base, it was soon time for a lovely dinner. Also staying with Kata and Jói was a foreign exchange student who needed a place to stay while her dormatory was closed for Easter. She was a little baffled at how all these people would fit into the house - but we did! 🙂
