Fall is in the air
This past Wednesday I noticed the first red leaves on a tree, and since then I’ve been seeing red and yellow leaves everywhere. This morning it looked quite blustery and cold out there, but as it happened it was windy but warm. So fall is in the air, but still has a ways to go.
On our end we’ve come to the end of another workweek, and we’re still standing. I’ve settled on a few shortcuts to preparing lectures that seem to work better than my first iteration. Furthermore, I will be distributing handwritten homework solutions to the students from now on after spending almost an entire day typesetting (LaTeX-ing) solutions to problems I already had solutions to!
The kids are doing pretty well. Anna attended a US-style birthday party for a classmate of hers this afternoon, at a new-ish Pump-It-Up type place, minus the swarm of attendants. The kids had a blast, and I liked how they got to to eat in the middle, and then go back to play.
Bjarki on the other hand is working hard to master all the stuff one needs when one no longer has a diaper on 24/7. It’s been going pretty well, but he hasn’t quite figured out the halt-the-output, tell-an-adult, run-to-the-bathroom sequence yet. So it’s still a rather parent-led activity, but he’s figuring it out and definitely making progress.
As for this weekend we’re hoping to make progress on the apartment. It’s close to habitable, but still overrun with stuff and here’s hoping we can fix that. Before Christmas preferably! 🙂
