What Day Is It Today?
We’ve started losing track of which day it is, since they’re all pretty much the same. We wake up around 9pm (give or take 30 minutes) and it’s always Bjarki that gets up first. It then takes us close to 3 hours to actually get ourselves together well enough to leave the house. This includes eating breakfast, reading the free newspaper, checking what’s happened online (aka email), getting dressed, cleaning up the mess after the kids, doing laundry, the dishes etc, gathering stuff up, realizing it’s almost noon, preparing lunch and theeeeeen we leave the house.
These past couple of days we’ve left the kids at my mom’s place while we’ve attended to the rental apartment. Yesterday Finnur filled in the nail holes, and today he covered them with paint. We think we might paint two or three walls completely in the next few days. I’ve spent my time cleaning walls, some closets, doorways, and getting started on the bathroom (the tub refuses to de-yellow-fy). There’s still a long list of stuff to do, but we’re trying to just do a little at a time so that we don’t exhaust ourselves. At some point we might call in ‘the crew’ for help but we’re trying to save them until the container arrives and they have to carry our stuff up three flights of stairs. Ahemm.
