Medical whirlwind, stuff for sale.
We’re taking Bjarki to see all his specialists before leaving lovely CA (today was the first really warm day in months!). The GI doctor recommended continuing his anti-acid medication (long-term usage side effects ‘unknown’), and today was the eye doc’s turn. He liked what he saw although he confirmed that Bjarki’s right eye drifts inwards when he looks up. I guess that rules out a career in basketball. No need to patch his eyes at this point in time, and now we just have to find a good eye doctor in Iceland.
Then we visited the NICU where we met one of Bjarki’s primary nurses from almost three years ago, and bumped into one of his NICU doctors who actually remembered us and came to say hi! Next up was the medical records department, where we filled out a form requesting medical records for the various family members. That should be quite a stack of papers. Then we moved over to a second health facility where we filled out the same forms. Oh fun. I wouldn’t be too surprised if I find myself driving around in a panic to pick the records up shortly before we leave…
In other news: Finnur sold the car yesterday (Kelly Blue Book price, well done Finnur!), and we will be selling our appliances to the landlord for 75% of their original value. Somebody also bought our old tv stand this morning, so now we only have a coffee table and two bookcases to sell plus a bunch of small electronic stuff. If we don’t then the furniture will probably end up going with us to Iceland, even though the coffee table totally clashes with our sofas #sigh#, and the rest of the stuff will be donated.
