Ég á enn eftir að prófa rafdrifnu scooter-ana sem maður getur notað ef maður fer milli bygginga en hef þegar prófað eitt af “almennings”-hjólunum sem maður má taka og skilja eftir við e-a gúgúl bygginguna.
Brátt verður maður svo spilltur að maður lítur ekki við farartæki sem maður þarf að erfiða við til að koma sér á áfangastað… 🙂
Last weekend
[Notes from the homeland… We had a very nice stay in the country house (all of 45 mins out of the city), by late afternoon on Wednesday the weather was gorgeous and we ended the evening in the hot tub (well, my feet had a nice warm time anyway). Thursday came wet and windy and we hustled into town around 3 pm. I then went to visit the ex-CAs Gudrun and Snorri who were celebrating Baldur’s 4th birthday. He sure has grown and so has Sif! 🙂
Then I got invited to dinner at Berglind and Styrmir’s who live very close by. There I got a good look at their new gorgeous daughter Isold and had a good time talking to Daníel Andri who’s chattering non-stop these days. The evening ended at Hulda’s and grandma’s with a short chat.
On to Friday, again good weather (blue skies) apart from a rather chilly wind. Went to the swimming pool in my old neighborhood (West-town) which looked pretty clean and rather freshly painted. It was weird though that the pretty water turned out to be either dirty or chock-full or oxygen, since it was kinda white and I couldn’t see across the 25 m pool although I could see the bottom at the deepest part.
I was bemused to find the same faucets and showers that were there when I was 10 years old, and it looked to me that early afternoon is the time where the 16 year old girls congregate to get a little tan in their bikinis (you see, a chilly wind can be stopped by protective walls, leaving just the sun). Then called Prof. Tyler to tell him the visa stuff was in order, and then it was on to Finnur’s family abode in Mosó to enjoy a fantastic dinner with the family.
Now it’s Saturday, another beautiful day in Reykjavik, with the usual chilly wind. I called my friend Hildur this noontime and caught her at the hospital where she’d just given birth to a baby girl the night before! I’m hoping to stop by her place tomorrow, and also to drop in on another friend who also had a daughter, very very recently. This is one fertile place!! 🙂
Tonight my family is having a family dinner in Beykihlid. Tomorrow is the last whole day, and on Monday I fly out again around 5pm. It’s been a really nice time, it’s spring-time, the trees are half-green and it smells wonderful. This is window-weather season, it looks wonderful outside but what you can’t see is the cold cold wind, although sometimes you can hear it. I must admit it’s been sometime since I heard the wind gust.
Finnur and Anna seem to be doing fine. They have a packed schedule for this weekend, and then it’s only Monday before I should be back. I think I land around midnigth on Monday evening.]
