Busy busy
We managed to rip ourselves out of bed at 1pm yesterday, and spent the rest of the day visiting our respective family members. We then collapsed into bed late last night, meaning that we seem to have successfully turned the clock around in our heads.
We spent the first part of today at my grandma’s house, helping her move into the “back-house”, since one of her daughters (the one that used to live in Belgium) will be living in the “big house” with her kids this coming winter. Then we caught up with our good friends Halli and Adda, and saw what a great job they’ve done with their new apartment! 🙂 (Note, people actually BUY apartments in Iceland, much like in New York…) Then it was back home to Finnur’s parent’s place where we had a scrumptious dinner (oven-roasted pork) with most of the family in attendance. And now they’re all organizing Finnur’s dad’s 60th birthday for next Sunday! 🙂
The weather has been great, a light drizzle with the occasional showers, but hardly any wind and the temperature is nice. We discoverd much to our amazement that we REALLY MISS THE RAIN and the wonderful smell of trees and wet ground that fills the air on these drizzly summer days… 🙂
